What should I pay attention to when charging the mobile phone for the first time

First charge
The first charge of mobile phone battery
1. The origin of 12-14 hours: The first generation of nickel-cadmium batteries need to be charged at a low rate. Generally, the charging current is recommended to be 1/10C. For example, if your battery capacity is 600mAh, then 1C is 600mA, and 1/10C is 60mA. Therefore, it takes more than 10 hours to fully charge the battery. For Ni-Cd batteries, it is good to charge at a low rate.
2. The batteries of mobile phones in 2013: all mobile phones use lithium ion batteries. The closest impression to us should be the 3210, which was released in 1999. The NiMH battery is not available around us.
3. Knowledge of lithium-ion battery: we only talk about capacity. There are two methods to measure the capacity of a lithium-ion battery: 1C charging and 0.2C discharging; 0.2C charging and 0.2C discharging, regardless of the charging system, should meet the standard. Because lithium-ion batteries are different from the previous nickel-cadmium batteries, the high rate charging of 1C is already acceptable and must be accepted. If a 600mAh battery is charged at 1C, it should be fully charged in about 1 hour. If the direct charge of mobile phone is designed like this (many are 0.5C-0.8C), 12-14 hours is nonsense.
According to the provisions of GB/T18287 2000 national standard, when the constant current is charged to 4.2V, the constant voltage is changed, and the current drops to 0.01C, the charging is considered to be terminated. For example, if the charging current of the charger is 0.5C, and the battery is charged with 600mAh, the charging current will drop to 6mAh in about 2 hours, then it is considered to be fully charged. Why did it drop to 0.01C? Because it is full, this is the reflection of the cell. For NiMH electricity, the national standard has also stipulated the index of high rate charge and discharge.
4. What is "activation"? The lithium-ion battery itself is "live". If the design capacity is 600mAh, although I will be full after charging for 2 hours, and then discharge, I can get the capacity of 600mAh, and the design capacity is enough. What's the problem of living? The technical supervision department implements the national standard, and the test capacity is charged with 1C, and then discharged. One of the five times the capacity is qualified. So normal use, normal charging can be used, and the new battery can be used in this way. Don't worry about "activation".
5. Charge for 14 hours: Most of the mobile phone batteries produced in 2012 are lithium-ion batteries, which are charged directly by the mobile phone and are full in about 2 hours. This step is the result of constant current charging; The remaining time is constant voltage charging, that is, trickle charging, which makes the battery capacity of the mobile phone more sufficient and the standby time longer.
